You can’t make this up. Denmark just made it illegal to raise cattle without giving them drugs. Farmers are being forced—by law—to feed their cows a government-approved chemical that supposedly stops them from farting too much. To stop producing methane.

That’s already a well-known problem in organic farming circles. Some chemicals that are fed into cows pass right through their digestive tracts unchanged and make their manure unusable as fertilizer. I can’t imagine what’s passing through dairy cows’ systems and coming out in their milk is much better. Consider BGH, just for starters.
So how is it? Our little strategy has been based on Will Rodgers' old adage: “The time to save is now. When a dog gets a bone, he doesn't go out and make a down payment on a bigger bone. He buries the one he has got.”
