The feckless Republicans are going to let the Democrats drive us into a recession. The Dems will make the poor economy the centerpiece of their campaign, correctly saying that it is the Republicans fault because the Republicans control the govt and could have kept it from happening.

I’m a bit surprised at this. I figured the Dems would finally agree to end the shutdown now that the election was over and they no longer needed to spin up the base.

Leader Thune reminds me of Charlie Brown, always ready to believe that this time he will get to kick the football.
When will he realize the guys on the other side are dishonorable America haters and learn to play to win for America?

I don’t need their money, nor do I want their taxes.
Close the whole thing down for a year!
Starve the Democrat.
I’ll buy a boat and sail to the mainland.
and get a horse to go where I want to.
Fuck the Democrat party and it’s members.
we don’t need their government.

And the Democrat tactics work because the electorate, by and large are ignorant, ill informed, and have no business voting in elections. Although it would be far from a cure-all, repealing the 26th Amendment, which lowered the voting age to 18, would be a good start towards improving the quality of the electorate.

There’s a reason we have minimum age requirements. I understand the argument back at the time the Amendment was adopted, but it was never the less a mistake. A better solution would have been to raise the draft age to 21 rather than lowering the voting age to 18.

From the Griffin Comprehensive Health Care Cost Reform Plan

HOSPITAL EMTALA COST ASSISTANCE

I would allow hospitals collect up to $1,000 per incident of EMTALA service from employers, with payment not in excess of $50 per week per employee concerned being due to any and all EMTALA providers and not for more than 100 weeks after service. Such payments on behalf of an employee would be considered to be a debt of the employee to the employer. Employers could collect back from employees and ex-employees (and require EMTALA incident employees to participate in an employer plan). State and federal garnishment limitation laws would not apply.

EMTALA REFORM

To get care under the EMTALA for yourself (or custodial child), the hospital might require you to
1. pay $100 in cash or by financial organization card accepted at the emergency care facility,
2. present for recording a valid coverage card and appropriate matching ID if and as required to use the coverage card,
3. hand over your valid SNAP card and present a matching valid domestic governmental picture ID,
4. hand over your valid domestic driver’s license,
5. hand over your valid US passport,
6. hand over your operable cellphone whose model is listed by a current regulation issued by a Secretary of HHS, or
7. hand over a valid domestic governmental picture ID of yours and
a matching financial institution statement less than 70 days old showing a domestic governmental or employer direct deposit of at least $150.

Items handed over may be retained by the emergency care facility until retrieved within one month by the responsible party by paying $100, or more, for the care, plus a retrieval fee not exceeding $50 in a manner the facility accepts. Items not timely retrieved may be disposed of in a legally allowable manner.

MEDICAID ER REFORM

Hospitals may require similar requirements to those of EMTALA Reform but with dollar amounts that are 2/5ths as much.

SNAP CARD ER DEBIT

States might be allowed to authorize emergency care facilities to debit SNAP cards within 30 days of service for ER incidents.

Do the nuclear option. No more filibuster. Dems wouldn’t have wasted a minute contemplating this.

End the filibuster.

Pay the troops and air traffic controllers.

Pass voting reforms. Trim back welfare programs. They’ll stay trimmed until January 2029 because Trump has the veto.

A Republican Congress can by majority vote allow citizens to renounce their citizenship and avoid the claws of the IRS if an election would soon result in a loss of Republican control.

The Congress can by majority vote dispose of territory of the United States.

A Republican Congress can cast off New York City. That would mean no more federal welfare money to NYC.

A Republican Congress can cede many of the low-income Democratic areas of California back to Mexico unless the Proposition 50 panel adopts a redistricting map prepared by the RNC.

A Republican Congress can sell off pieces of Vandenberg AF Base to billionaires such as Musk and conservative organizations, who can create independent countries.

I believe military bases have been legally severed from the states they were in, just as DC is no longer a part of Maryland. I believe California has no jurisdiction over Vandenberg AF Base, or should I say Afrikaansland, Trumpland, etc.

Red states can turn over their territory for federal open carry ‘bases of freedom’ which can then be made into independent countries.

SEPARATE OUT DRUG COVERAGE

Without having to manage drug coverage, hospital systems can run care coverage systems and cut out most insurance company overhead and meddling. The co-pays and co-insurance would generally be equal to the hospital system’s marginal cost so there would be little reason to say no to a doctor’s request except for medical (or moral) cause.

Hospital system plans might charge a monthly age-related fee if you lack a drug plan listed by the hospital system plan.

Keep the federal government shut down until federal employees have their cars repossessed and default on their mortgages or are evicted for unpaid rent. Let them lose their cars and the roofs over their heads. Let them beg on street corners.

They love them “shut-down Democrats” so put their Leftist asses on the streets, homeless. They all need a big dose of early Twentieth Century hard times. They need to see their Democrat elite “heroes” rolling along with their uninterrupted income while Democrat peasants starve.

Being broke is a bitch and they all desperately need the lesson.

It’s time for the nuclear option.

The nation is literally being held hostage by a rogue party.

Reopen it without them.

It’s also way past time to privatize the air traffic controllers the same way Reagan did at the time.

So much for Monday's "Democrats are just waiting until after Tuesday's elections to end the shutdown, so they don't anger their base."

Now they are emboldened by their base to go scorched earth on everything from now to the midterms.

The Republicans sure picked a lousy time to have a mini civil war over Nick Fuentes, when we need to prepare for:

Senator Kennedy spoke last month on some of the demands of the Dems/Socialists regarding the shutdown. One of which is keeping Obamacare subsidies for those making upwards of $200K++/yr. Also half a trillion for PBS,
half a billion for vasectomies in Zambia, $3 million for pastry cooking classes for Haitan male prostitutes, $300K for a single pride parada in Lutu, etc etc - basically all the wasteful spending the Reps cut out of the Big Beautiful Bill
