That unfortunately is the truth.
It is apparently OK for people to freeze in the dark when the power is out but we can't let our AI overlords suffer the same fate.

Funny how quickly all the regulatory doors opened for new power plants (especially nukes) as soon as Big Tech and all that money came knocking. It's almost as though the Sierra Club and other enviro-kook NGOs suddenly realized they were opposing the donors who paid them.

I’m unfamiliar with the technical details on the new small reactors, but if cooling water is needed, Lubbock doesn’t seem to be the ideal location.
