This is an unusual family for this kind of story, since there does seem to be a man involved. Gosh, the father stuck around to help raise the kids. Chances are, he’s working, but just not earning very much.
But yeah. The last time I read a statistic on it, around 70 percent of immigrants are on public assistance. (I read it on the internet, so it must be true.) This includes a great many who are working. Part of their problem is that open borders has flooded the country with low skill people who depress wages on the lower rungs of the ladder.
The liberal response is to open the borders, invite millions more to come each year, and relentlessly increase taxes to pay for endlessly growing welfare budgets.
Alternatively, we could control the borders. Trump has made a good start, but I don’t see that the left has the slightest interest in changing on the issue.
