Not the same thing but I remember reading about the unfair and sad tragedy of the World War I soldiers and sailors coming home after a lot of sacrifice and injuries to have to desperately mass in Washington DC in a protest after the government refused to properly compensate them in the Great Depression.
1932.
They brought wives and children to camp out in tents and makeshift shanties.
Note: The current 42 million SNAP recipients and the military people today do not compare with returning WWI veterans ——but it was another example of dependence on Washington being a bad idea for people.
“The government’s response was forceful. President Hoover ordered the army, under General Douglas MacArthur and Major George Patton, to evict the peaceful protestors. The army used tear gas, bayonets, and tanks to clear the camps, resulting in injuries and deaths, and burning the veterans’ belongings. “
Yup.
The SNAP recipients have a lot of fat black women who simply haven't worked for years and have developed a dependence on other Americans working hard to pay taxes to pay for these losers.
SNAP will have to be reformed.
What do you mean by this part:
The current 42 million SNAP recipients >>>and the military people today<<< do not compare with returning WWI veterans
I don’t understand why you are conflating SNAP beneficiaries and today’s military forces?
