First, Newsom isn’t going to sign the bill in California. So saying “California just passed a Hate Crime bill” is pretty misleading.
Second, what did the guy post in Facebook that got him the prison sentence? (I’m not going to watch an X video to find out.)
He said some things that were, in my opinion, legitimate grievances about immigrants in the UK, but he also said “”every man and his dog should smash the f*** out of Britannia Hotel.” where immigrants were being housed. The asterisks are mine. Then he followed that up with a post saying “”Start about five bell tonight my boy but it’s all gravy.”
They probably could have prosecuted him even without him urging people to violence. There’s really no free speech in th UK.
I should add that the hotel wasn’t even attacked, but i guess just saying that is enough in the UK to get you thrown in prison.
And the CA bill covers “mega” (over $1 million in revenue) social media companies... not individuals. CA commie pols looks to moderate (censor) certain social media posts.
