Just like the criminal in Queens with a long record who broke into the elderly couple's house and brutally killed them (set one on fire, I think) for not letting him in to charge his cell phone. Unbelievable.

My "spidey sense" tells me that the request to charge his cell phone was simply a ruse to get in.

No adult seriously expects to be let in by strangers in order to, e.g., use the bathroom, or charge a phone. It was a simple ploy.

Then, once the criminals are inside...
