Sure do miss libbylu....
Then again.... maybe not....
I liked a comment there that they should leave the scratch in and say it was caused by dragging cannon during the war of 1812 : )
They need to get 8k security cameras. The video did not look sharp as it could be.
Make me, nutless old geezer
If this was a deliberate act of vandalism, and it surely reads like one to me, I’m glad the president went public with the info.
For a number of reasons.
Disagree. This isn't Trump's property. It's We The People's property and Trump is not just calling out this contractor. He is sending a message to any future contractors working on the government's/our dime that slovenly half-assing it will not be tolerated. Loud and clear.
And if it wasn’t a mistake...?
And there’s OSHA, and possible violations that took place on the WH worksite...
Oh, yeah. I’ll bet the president was steaming...
“I agree. This makes Trump look sound like some miserable old fart on Nextdoor”
If you are a contractor/Subcontractor and your work isn’t perfect, don’t expect to be paid. “Good enough for government work” doesn’t apply to Trump. He’s a builder, a project and program manager and executive sponsor for any construction project where he is a key stakeholder.
The issue isn’t that the subs screwed up the walkway. The issue is they know they did it and ignored it. Big no no.
There is the old adage, widely attributed, that one should praise loudly and publicly, but reprimand in private. Some of the comments infer that the damage was deliberate. There is no way to know.
One thing I know is that Trump was a developer, and he knows how to handle contractors. But now he has a wider and greater responsibility. There is a Chinese proverb that says ruling a great nation is like cooking a small fish. It must be handled with delicacy.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Federal bureaucracy has become too large, expensive and arrogant to serve the citizens of a free nation, or a free republic. We need Trump’s bull in the china shoppe. But this was the work of a private contractor, not Just-us Department deep state operatives.
You’re wrong... he sounds like EVERY taxpayer who pays for something and receives poor quality, or poor work and who wants his/her money back!
We have all been there...unfortunately, America is hooked on mediocrity!
Minority contractor? Isn't There was a thing in government contracting that gives minority contractors a preference?
Yep - it’s gonna leave a mark - oh....wait....
Someone reacting any other way โ especially "quietly" โ would not be Donald Trump.
Is there an English translation of this?
It's social media terminology for "blasting" (slamming) someone online so harshly and effectively that it goes viral.
Too bad people don't use many of those thousands of words in the dictionary any longer. The ones they do use, they use incorrectly.
Why?
Trump is paying for the whole job, why can't he complain about poor workmanship in public?
It's not good for business. If contractors think they will be publicly humiliated and disgraced every time one of their employees screws up, they will avoid doing business with him.
Good.
Only the excellent need apply.
BTW, why do you continue to assume this was accidental...
