In 1940, when the Brits were facing what seemed to be a Nazi invasion after the fall of France, US gun owners sent thousands of privately-owned firearms to England via the NRA. This was a voluntary and generous program to give the Brits some mode of defense against German tyranny.

It may be that their hour of need is here again.

You make a great point. I suspect that there are many families in Britain that are in Silent Running mode right now. Quietly preparing for the opportunity while publicly mewling the official government line so as to not attract the attention of the authorities.

You know what the Brits did with those guns after the war? Most of them were dumped in the Channel.

Too bad they destroyed all those guns American citizens sent them. If I had any guns, I certainly would not send them any more to destroy.

IIRC, they were supposed to return them, too. But instead, they dumped them into the channel.

If they want a gun from me, two things. A) It'll have to be one I'm willing to sell and B) they'll have to pay market price plus expenses.
