California may be losing population, but it will have the same number of electoral votes in 2028 as it had in 2024.

What we see as flaws and failures by Newsom may actually make him more attractive to Democrats in the primaries. But it's too soon to tell who will emerge as their nominee in 2028. They have lost with an unlikable white woman and with an unlikable (sort-of) black woman, so maybe they will think it is the turn of an unlikable Hispanic woman.
