British Columbia is dominated politically by Vancouver, which has a huge Chinese population and is heavily penetrated by Red Chinese financial and political interests. Not a good deal for the United States.

I speak daily with people in the lumber industry in the Vancouver area.
That is why I was surprised that they would potentially have a majority that would want to leave Canada.
I do not think BC would be a good fit. However, AB, SK, MB and the Yukon would be. The Yukon is more closely linked to Alaska than it is to Canada. Plus it is also full of natural resources.
i just asked a person in Vancouver about this. He seemed to think it was just internet BS. That there is not the support in BC to break away like there is in Alberta.
He attributed it to typical YT video looking for clicks.
