“Why was that? Because Horne proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the autopsy that the U.S. military conducted on Kennedy’s body on the very evening of the assassination was fraudulent. Once one comes to that realization, it’s ‘case closed’ on the assassination itself. There is no way around it. That’s because there is no innocent explanation for a fraudulent autopsy. It necessarily equates to a cover-up. And the only entity that the U.S. military, which conducted that fraudulent autopsy, would be covering up for would be itself.”

Except RFK also participated in this cover-up via George Burkley and Robert McNamara and other Kennedy insiders present at the autopsy, and he ended up with custody of his brother’s brain. The Kennedy family was in charge of how the autopsy was handled, allegedly following orders JFK had issued in the event of the assassination of a U.S. high public official.

You get at a significant point, that Jack Kennedy as a noble martyr was far better for his family's political standing than having his reputation sullied by a comprehensive autopsy that proved various health and conduct issues. This calculation by RFK helped compromise the autopsy and the larger investigation into the assassination.

RFK nevertheless expected to vindicate his brother by winning the Presidency in 1968 and then directing a reinvestigation of the assassination that nailed the conspirators but kept JFK's secrets of Addison's Disease, chronic VD, and illegal amphetamine use.
