you think this is a collective decision?
I chuckled to myself when reading your question.
FR has changed dramatically in the last 20-25 years. Even in the last year or two, heck, the last six months, there's been a pronounced change.
There used to be many varied articles getting posted - which mirrored the general news cycle. Now we have much more repetition in what's posted here.
So to answer your question, yes - in a way, I think the sameness and repetition are indicative of a much more controlled environment.
An example is today's news about Trump planning an EO that opens up 401k accounts to private equity, private markets. This is HUGE. Reuters published it online around 10:00pm yesterday; New York Post had it around 12:30pm today, and Fox Business published it online around 2:30pm.
Forbes published an online article about it on June 27.
from the Forbes article:
President Donald Trump’s administration is reportedly considering an executive order to open the $9 trillion U.S. retirement market to private equity and alternative investments, a transformative shift for 401(k) plans. This directive would task the Department of Labor, Treasury, and Securities and Exchange Commission with exploring ways to integrate private funds into retirement plans, as reported by Pensions & Investments, benefiting firms like Blackstone and Apollo Global Management.
News like this would never have escaped FR, not even in the recent past. It would have been posted by now.
So we have the continual drumbeats of, Israel..Epstein...ICE...DOGE...the taste of Coca-Cola!(lol).
But where's the meaty stuff - actual news that effects people's lives on a daily basis? Not so much here...anymore.
