During the assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan, Secret Service agent Timothy McCarthy took a bullet intended for Reagan. While pushing Reagan into the limousine, McCarthy spread his body over the president to shield him from the gunfire, resulting in him being shot in the abdomen. Another agent, Jerry Parr, also played a crucial role by pushing Reagan into the limousine, which likely saved Reagan from being shot in the head.
