The administration could claim “national security” to escape the FOIA review—which imho is what they should have said from the start.
It’s too late for that. Doing that would hurt Trump tremendously for the upcoming midterms.
The administration has painted itself into a corner—and this may even get worse than it already is.
There may be other Epstein evidence out there in FL or NY or the Virgin Islands or New Mexico.

It doesn't help now that there are still thousands of people in our IC who are working against Trump every single day.
The only people who care are the ones who complain no matter what President Trump does.
If I wanted to humiliate the administration (and were part of the IC) I would hold back some Epstein files—does not even matter which ones—to release at a time and place of my choosing.
The potential downsides of this fiasco are off the charts.
I wish that was true—I really do.
Unfortunately this issue is going to even affect folks who are mostly non-political.
This will be the Streisand Effect on steroids.
When you tell people all over the Internet they cannot see something (or there is nothing to see) you are daring them to uncover any little tidbit they can find.
Same outfit that investigated Epstein has worked to hide the evidence.
The same people that framed Trump and tried to destroy him

For God’s sake, who the heck is dumb enough to think that Deep State would leave Trump intact files, files that hadn’t been tampered with, doctored, redacted?!
Deep State likely left the legal equivalent of a minefield for the Trump admin.
Exhibit some freaking patience and trust the man we hired to do what needs to be done.
Whatever it is.
He’s damned well earned that trust.

There does not need to be a “bombshell” any more.
All there needs to be is new Epstein files (of any kind) that makes the administration look like fools.

The feds intelligence agencies most likely skipped the middle-man-bureaeaucrats and had just live feeds hacked into Epstein Island. Really.
Nobody in the real world cares.
I care.
But I trust Trump to deal with it.
In the “unreal” world aka the Internet people are going crazy over this stuff.
At some point it may break out into the real world.
