Nothing wrong with saying Ukraine lost the war. Putin could be sitting in Kyiv right now. They have nothing to be ashamed of. They won by surviving. They took on the second most powerful military on Earth and did not get wiped out. That's a win.

This article completely misses the point. Even if Ukraine cannot expel Russia from all of its territory, it is in the interest of Europe to continue arming Ukraine to wear down Russia's own military. Kill Russian troops, destroy Russian equipment, weaken the Russian economy. From the perspective of the Europeans, that is a better result than simply giving up.

The higher the cost Russia pays, the better for the countries supporting Ukraine.

So, if Ukraine has lost the war, we don’t need to keep hearing about Russian advances every day, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year. Right? They have already conquered all of Ukraine. Right?

Will the Ukrainians be able to exchange their Hryvnia for Rubles? Or have they already done that?

Who has Putin installed as the mayor of Odesa? And as the mayor of Kiev?

How could Ukraine defeat the world’s 2nd most powerful military that could literally ride a bicycle to the country they were invading and use trucks to deliver weapons directly from their factory floors to their front line troops and armor divisions at the battlefields.

3.5 years later it looks like Russia will probably lose what they invaded for, Ukraine still exists and it appears that Ukraine will remain on the maps and as a people, at this point it even looks like they will keep Odesa and its access to the Black Sea, Ukraine exists and has a future outside of Russia.

Russia had close to 15000 tanks that weren’t Soviet era. News reports or propaganda suggest Russia lost thousands of tanks to Ukraine, however there is no satellite footage to back up the data. I do agree, Ukraine put up a great fight, but they will lose the territory and will not get it back. Biggest question is what country is next and how do they protect themselves from Russian aggression?

...in the interest of Europe to continue arming Ukraine...”

Except they can’t produce enough weapons to matter in time.

I don't understand what you mean. If the goal is attrition of the Russian military, then any weapons/munitions they provide to Ukraine advances that purpose even if it isn't enough to "defeat" Russia.

Kill Russian troops, destroy Russian equipment, weaken the Russian economy.

Standard Atlanticist/globalist/neocon nonsense

Russia now probably has the largest and most battle-tested land army in the world. They have integrated and use daily brand new futures weapons systems like drones. They have speeded development of their hypersonics. They have learned to defeat every major US/EU weapons system. Meanwhile, Germany continues to decline. And we have forced half the world to choose between the US/US dollar and BRICS.

The stupid interventionism is making Russia STRONGER not weaker.

Europe stands patiently and closely like a beaten wife, and it is both Trump and Russia that beat her. They can’t do anything but complain and dream. Without America, they are lost to their feckless, effete leaders. The coalition of the willing are not willing to go to war and are dreaming back to the days of cheap Russian oil. Europe got sold, just as Ukraine got sold, on a dismal war that they can’t win. Trump should be happy that their haughty and disdainful attitudes toward him have now been brought down a notch. They are the compliant ones who have to get whatever Trump and Putin are dishing out.

So Ukraine lost....

Are Russian troops occupying Kyiv? No. So they haven't "lost."

....but lets keep killing Ukrainian lives for no good reason? Damn.

It's not the rest of Europe that is killing Ukrainians -- it's Russians doing that. And Ukrainians make their own decision about whether or not they are willing to keep killing those who invaded their country.

The choice for the rest of Europe is whether they choose to maximize the cost to Russia. Evidently, the answer is "yes".

Personally, I don't think those in agreement with this article care in the least how many Ukrainians die. They only care about how many Russians die, because that's the side they prefer.

From the perspective of the Ukrainians, not so much, at least not at this point.

Russia now probably has the largest and most battle-tested land army in the world.

And still they can't cross the Dnieper River because they won't be able to resupply their troops once they do.

So your comment is pure Russian propaganda.

How many were PRE-Soviet?

”They have learned to defeat every major US/EU weapons system.”

Those 90s-era Bradleys, Abrams and third-hand F-16s are state-of-the-art.

Uh...no, they really don't. They have far fewer tanks, APC's, artillery pieces, ships, etc., etc. etc., than they did before this war began because so many have been destroyed.

The stupid interventionism is making Russia STRONGER not weaker.

No, it isn't, but I understand why you want people to believe that. You want to discourage resistance to Russia, so you make the back-asswards argument that killing Russian soldiers and destroying Russian equipment somehow makes them "stronger".

The truth is that both countries have diminishing military capabilities. That's what happens with wars of attrition.

Both countries are able to recover a tank 70-80% of the tank and put it back out on the battlefield.

Thus, Ukraine can knock out one tank literaly a half to a dozen times before it is actually destroyed.

This is the bitter reality the west refuses to acknowledge.

Russia has roving teams who recover tanks and oftentimes refurbish and return to battle a single tank in one week or less.

The key to Armor is recovery. Ukraine failed to recover the majority of the equipment they sent into battle.

Russia produced over 300 MBTs in 2024, and they retrofitted another 1600 into the latest greatest. Much of the old WWII Armor is being used as assault guns rather than in a traditional tank role.

Yesterday, three Turtle Tanks busted another Ukrainian town that the Ukrainians send over 200 drones agianst the assault force of about 80 men.

Kiev is evacuating the nationalist government offices and personnel to Lviv in order that they might escape to Poland to conduct business rather than stand together with the Gulag called Western Ukraine, the one where all adults are now forbidden from traveling out of the country due to manpower/womanpower.
