I think Kamala was the critical mistake. Picking her made removing Biden nearly impossible. Once she was VP anyone else was going to be hard to slip in either as a interm replacement or candidate. DEI ruled and the Democrats were hung by their own petard.

Sometimes people give advice in an attempt to achieve a particular outcome. But not necessarily the outcome which might appear most obvious. Debate Trump as early as possible. So that you can be forced out of the race as early as possible. We are hoping to get Newsome into the race as a replacement and we want him to run a short, punchy 4 or 5 month campaign.

I think Biden (perhaps Jill more than Joe) understood what was done to Joe and the quick endorsement of the execrable Kamala Harris was a way to short circuit the Newsome nomination and totally screw the party that had screwed Joe.

You are correct.

Even before the debate, I have read articles, speculating why so early! There was never a presidential debate so early in the election cycle!
They speculated, that this was a test, Biden’s operators designed so they can give him a chance. They knew the pitiful state of his mind, but they decided to give him a test.
If he would pass that debate, he would be the nominee. Otherwise, they would select somebody else!
The timing was selected, such that there was still time to switch nominees before the election.
Once the Democratic convention officially nominated Biden and spend a week praising him and his faculties, it would be practically impossible to replace him!
Obviously, that’s what happened.

Put simply, the manipulated him into this, so they would have enough time to replace him, should he fall apart, which they were almost assured he would do.

Biden was not replaced because he was going to lose the white house, they knew the white house was lost by Jan 2024....

Biden got replaced because it became obvious that if the rest of the democrats had to go out and keep defending him as mentally competent, they would be decimated down ballot. They needed a weather balloon early enough to avoid down ballot disaster.

The pressure to remove him, only went in earnest when the down ballot polls all started showing if the senators and congressmen went out and kept defending Biden as competent, they would be demolished. That’s when the decision to remove him was made... Had NOTHING to do with the White House.

I’ll bet they withheld his stimulants, too.

LOL. yes I recall, she praised Joe for answering all the questions, with a tone of voice and demeanor as if she were praising a child in Kindergarten.

How did Harris get the ticket?

The same way she got the VP ticket.

“””A strategic move, must have been a hard decision for Jill knowing she didn’t care much for Kamala.””

It probably was tough for her but imagine how she felt when all her power was taken away by the ruling class. Maybe she finally realized she was also just a puppet.

Yep, she was not happy. Imagine just how desirous she was for power if she was willing to abuse Joe for it.

I think Kamala was the critical mistake. Picking her made removing Biden nearly impossible.

Biden boxed himself in before the primaries:

“Whomever I pick, preferably it will be someone who was of color and/or a different gender, but I’m not making that commitment until I know that the person I’m dealing with I can completely and thoroughly trust…”

Even though he left himself wiggle room , the party base took it as a commitment. There was also the risk that the VP would outshine him, if he picked someone popular and talented. (Why do you think both Mrs. Clinton and Kamala Harris picked dishrags for running mates?)

Journalists Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager and Isaac Arnsdorf, in their new book, “2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America,” out tomorrow.

Read it and weep: “By holding the first debate in the spring, YOU will be able to reach the widest audience possible,” Biden’s top aides told him — and by the way, every reference to Biden is written in attention-grabbing all-caps and bold — “before we are deep in the summer months with the conventions, Olympics and family vacations taking precedence. In addition, the earlier YOU are able to debate the better, so that the American people can see YOU standing next to Trump and showing the strength of YOUR leadership, compared to Trump’s weakness and chaos.”

Reality check: As readers may recall, it didn’t quite work out that way.

And yet the Left insisted, unanimously, that Biden won handily. Some STILL insist on that alternative reality.

“ The best debate ever, the only one we will ever see where there. ... “

where there were no gotcha questions to Trump, no attack questions to Trump. If other presidential debates had been equally fair with the questions, Trump would have won all of them just about as easily.

That was the funniest part of the debate. I always wondered why that didn’t get more traction. I never saw a spouse more ridiculous than that especially to a president. How embarrassing, but entertaining.

“it does also seem an odd kind of “cover-up” to recommend the president get out on national TV as soon as possible for a 90-minute debate with his opponent, in front of millions of viewers.”

His handlers thought after 2-3 weeks of rest prior to the debate they could juice up Joe for 90 minutes of spit and fire!

A simple explanation would be that the handlers could see Biden going downhill fast, and figured he’d do better sooner than later. If by some miracle Biden “won” or at least performed well in the early debate, the campaign could dodge debates thereafter.
