Northern Virginia always decides statewide results. Virginia needs the electoral college... as do many states with high density metropolitan areas.

Youngkin broke the mold with his win.

His victory appears to have been a fluke.

Thank you for referencing that article Red Badger.

"Virginia’s off-year elections are being viewed by both parties as a key bellwether heading into next year’s midterms, as well as a potential indicator for how voters view President Trump."

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

While the Trump-inspired Big Beautiful Law is a step in putting the country back on its constitutionally limited power federal government foundations, the ultimate tax reform is to repeal the 16th Amendment (16A; direct taxes). That amendment is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for organized crime front-ended by deep state Congress imo.

But only the states can amend the Constitution.

Note that House "Republicans" had introduced a referendum to propose an amendment to the Constitution to the states to repeal 16A while Pelosi was speaker. So did they really expect to get support for it?

In other words, it's entirely up to us patriots to wake up and support only those state and federal 2026 primary candidates who publicly promise to support PDJT47 in putting the icing on the cake of his Big, Beautiful Law by next leading the states to repeal 16A.

The 17th Amendment, popular voting for federal senators, needs to disappear too.

We'll call the repeal amendment Trump's Boston Tea Party II Amendment.

These same federal workers voted four years ago. And a republican Won!!! No excuses! Trumps economy is on fire....

That was all before the (necessary and proper) mass cutbacks to the federal workforce Trump instituted just this year. And while the Trump's private sector economy may be doing better nationally, federal government employment is not.

There is a reason Democrats are claiming that Virginia is a bellweather....

New Jersey is the ACTUAL bellweather. If it is close, or if we pull off a win there, it will prove that NJ is turing into a swing system. VA is Blue.

VA is NOT a bellweather. It is skewed by government employees and Karens in NOVA and suspect ballot counting in 3 regions. Any media person telling you otherwise is lying to try and create false momentum.

Did Winsome Sears actually win a separate election for Lt. Governor?

Or, was she on one ticket with Youngkin?

LT Governor is an independent election in VA.

Voters vote for the Governor and Lt Governor separately.

It is not a joint ticket.

The media humiliated itself that election night, focusing repeatedly all night on 2 female democrats would win mayorships (which was a foregone conclusion as they were both dems in deep blue cities) that would win, and not even mentioning that Winsome Sears was the first black woman ever voted into the Lt Governornship for VA.

In fact one Network, I forget which one, was caught so off guard they had to grab some photo off the internet that was grossly stretched just to have a picture of her when the news came out she was going to win
