Let’s be blunt. This is written by a dyed in the whole neocon warmonger paid to pump up profits for the MIC. One of the goals is to get boots on the ground in the ME because otherwise the Army doesn’t have a leading mission in the world. Opposing the pivot to China by keeping war going in the ME is a key part of this strategy. These war mongers are guilty of premeditated murder.
I have to apologise. They are apolitical and don’t take money from suspect sources without disclosure. But they do need a revenue stream of neutral money. To this end they state “We hope in the future to secure syndication agreements (we currently are syndicated by Microsoft, for example) to diversify our revenue streams and readership.”
There you go. A trusted neutral professional source of information.
Already did. Only ignorance and naivety would have believed it was over. If it wasn’t one of the two combatants it would have been one of the third parties who are invested in these endless wars for profit.
Iran has been humiliated. Though the mullah regime is despised by most Iranians, it is not about to be overthrown. The infrastructure og goond and thugs hat suppresses and terrorizes the poplulation remains intact. They are paid with the hard currency cash so graciously delivered on pallets to the mullahs by Obama and Biden. They will continue to crack heads and kill as long as they are paid. Even if the mullahs somehow were overthrown, don’t expect warm and fuzzy feelings from Iranians to Israel and America. The bitterness of the humiliation will last a very long time and they will always be looking for revenge opportunities. Also “Prince Reza” has absolutely no prospects to lead or even be a symbolic leader in Iran. The near future is very unstable. China will exploit the situation shamelessly.
The islamist leadership in Iran has a deep, religious commitment to destroy Israel and kill every Jew. That’s not going to change with any “agreement”.
Long term, there are only two solutions:
1) The conversion of Islam away from the need to kill all unbelievers, or
2) The annihilation of Islam.
The Democrats primary constituency is now third world illegals and "main stream" ( i.e. virulenly orthodox ) Muslims.
Iran still has missiles and launchers, but now a shortage of top techs and senior leadership. The shortage could change in weeks or months. No indications US is requiring Iran to give up its proxies. This is just a tactical hudna.
The various reasons aside as to why some think this war is not over, what I glean from this is maybe Pres Trump jumped the shark a bit in announcing the ceasefire and promising peace between Israel and Iran.
I just don’t see the Iranians being ready to sit down and make nice. The current regime, however precarious their footing is now, is still in charge. That includes not their internal security apparatus.
besides, the Iranians have for years proved time and time again that they are not to be trusted. Their recent round of so-called “negotiations” should have proved that.
These people......
It might be temporary, but it’s a start. Good for Trump, he did manage to get it started.
Insight: Do remember the Iraqi Iranian war. This is what we are dealing with.
“ The Iran–Iraq War was an armed conflict between Iran and Iraq that lasted from September 1980 to August 1988……and lasted for nearly eight years….
The Iran-Iraq War, which lasted from 1980 to 1988, resulted in an estimated total of casualties ranging from 1,000,000 to 2,000,000, “
Good read. Islamists are like Fire Ants, they will always be looking to “start” something, and they are too big and spread out to exterminate. It will be an ongoing hot/cold war for a long time. Israel is tiny and Islam will nuke it out of existence if it gets the chance. Until things will carry on as always.
Look at Saddam and his weapons programs for a clue where this goes.
He was talking shit and firing missiles right up to when he was pulled out of his hole.
I’m not sure I understand FReeper mentality anymore.
Are there some that want a ground war?
Are there those who think a ground war is inevitable?
I don’t think either is true.
The dynamics of war has changed drastically over the past several years.
Air campaigns with stealth, missiles and drones are the new reality, as much as tanks were after the Panzer Blitzkrieg. Tanks and Aircraft Carriers are now the past.
If you have allegiances to other countries, perhaps you want to see this country fail. I’d like to think that those who express such sentiments are only doing it out of fear of the US losing, not hope.
In any case, this “war” is over; or at least this stage of it. The Iranian people are weary. Let’s give them a chance to change things up and support them as best we can. That, in my opinion, will do more than GBU-57s.
It’s never going to be over as long as the ayatollahs remain in power. Leaving them in power guarantees the next war.
Well the Iranians still want Israel gone and even more so now. But their nuke capability has been disabled at least for now. So that’s progress.
Wrong again, it has come to an end.
They should have just taken care of the Ayatollahs and let the crown prince come back.
The benefits of any ceasefire is to consolidate and reorganize.
For Iran, it is time to redistribute launchers and missiles.
For Israel, its time to do the same, but also monitor Iran’s movements, identify new targets, and determine weapons supply routes.
For the US, its an opportunity to appear to be at least a slightly less biased peace broker. It is also the opportunity to complete the BDA of the nuke sites and observe Iran’s movements and reactions.
Agree with the title, without the hyperbole, and with deeper truth - The War Between Israel and the Mullahs of Tehran is not over. The war has never been about any intrinsic national interest of the people of Iran. It is totally a theological based war coming from the Mullah’s radical theology, in which they have hijacked Iranian nationalism and made it a servant of their own narrow radical political interest.
