Hey *ucker, two Iranian brothers were some of the best engineers that ever worked for our company (photolithography). When their visas were about to expire they were terrified as their family was aligned with the Shah. They’d have been killed if forced to return. Fortunately, we got them permanent status.

I agree. I worked with a brilliant and wonderful Persian lady many years ago. It was awful watching her come in every day in tears. Her entire family was part of the intelligentsia of old Iran.... Teachers and doctors mostly. All executed after the Shah fell and Khomeini took over. She had married an American. She was the sole survivor of her extended family. I have worked with many wonderful Persians. Iran today looks NOTHING like it once did.
