I’d much rather my tax dollars go towards paying for Medicare for our Vets, like YOU, than towards Medicaid for ILLEGAL INVADERS.

Glad you’ll have the option of using either…always good to have options.

Illegal aliens are not eligible for either Medicare and Medicaid. Or SNAP, Section 8 housing or any other taxpayer funded program.

This is why so many Americans have been cut back and kicked off.

I hope we aren’t going to get all bleeding heart about this now.

“California should deny federal money and do it themselves...”

The California Legislature passed a state budget that relies more on borrowing than spending cuts to close a projected $12 billion deficit, aiming to push off difficult decisions about priorities even as that gap is only expected to grow in future years.

The liberals have been “borrowing” money from other funds to cover the immediate failure of a project they need for years. A lot of the funding over the years has been nothing more than slush funds within the system hiding until use. And most of the time they don’t pay it back because a new budget comes in to cover the loss and recover the project prior to the bills becoming due and being noticed. The budget process normally is recovered with raised taxes and more borrowing.

And .....the places that illegally employ them never have to offer them any health care because the taxpayers foot the bill.

Wow! Thinking Medicaid and wrote Medicare by mistake. However, I’m still right. They aren’t eligible for Medicare either. Not legally anyway.

“i totally believe them when they say not a single illegal voted in our elections.”

It’s never been about illegals voting.

(1) Beefing up the census counts results in more electoral votes for a state.

(2) They want warm bodies to connected to addresses for ballot harvesting in elections.

So, although it IS about elections, it isn’t about the illegals actually voting.

“potentially unlawful”

Gavin never seems to be bothered the illegality of someone being here illegally, working illegally and getting welfare illegally.

Easy way they’ve been sidestepping that though: give federal grants to NGO’s which then give it to people not eligible to receive federally-funded benefits. The NGO’s are just a money laundering operation to skirt federal law.

Why wasn’t citizenship a precondition to being covered by Medicaid in the first place?

Yes and no. Under federal law, illegal aliens are generally not entitled to Medicaid benefits except for emergency medical treatment, which is why many illegals use hospital emergency rooms for primary care. Medicaid, however, is jointly administered by both the feds and the states, and many hopelessly blue states allow illegals to directly or indirectly get coverage through state administered programs.

There’s a thread that links to a legal Iranian immigrant describing how he schooled somebody who told him he shouldn’t be wearing a pro-Trump shirt because it might offend “immigrants”. He does a great job, and what he makes really clear is that what the dems are supporting is really just lawlessness.

That thread is at https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/4323198/posts .

"except for emergency medical treatment"

Well, there is a part of federal law to eradicate. Let the states figure out emergency medical care.

Thought that might have been what happened. I used to administer and chase fraud concerning welfare benefits of all types in my state. Medicaid is funded primarily by block grants from the feds to the states. Each state has a little leeway in how it is given out. In general you are correct but the money does go to pregnant women otherwise ineligible based on their immigration status. It also goes to pay for the delivery. States can and do use workarounds. Another big one is Medicaid providing payment for “treatment of an emergency medical condition” for those who have no eligible immigration status. Think of all the people who were deemed to be “refugees” and “parolees” by the Biden administration but weren’t really refugees or parolees. Refugee and parolee are eligible immigration classifications with 7-year limitations.
Basically, what we may think is not happening because it’s illegal can and does happen due to some sidestepping and working around.

“What took so long?”

I’m guessing you have never had to deal with the government. The IRS sent a letter telling me I had not paid my 2020 taxes. This was last year. They charged me the taxes $11.5k plus interest and penalties. I had a copy of the check the IRS cashed check. You would think I present a copy of the cashed check and that would be that. You call the IRS and they call you back in two hours. The clerk who may or may not speak recognizable English can’t help. You go back in the queue. Two hours later another clerk calls and he can’t help you. Rinse and repeat. You only get three calls per day. They can’t tell you why they can’t help or how the next guy might be able to. After three days and nine calls I called Sentor Rubio’s office. Loads of paperwork went back and forth and finally, they called the IRS. (Oh, his office lost my case twice and I had to start over.) At this point I have three months, numerous calls and letters invested. Total run time on this was a year and probably fifty hours of my time.
Finally, my case was assigned to another agency whose purpose is to interface between the ordinary unwashed masses and the IRS. They were every bit as hard to deal with. Finally, a tax professional who felt she owed me a favor for helping her daughter and son-in-law buy a house took me under her wing. She wrote a letter demanding a transcript. I got the money because the IRS could NOT provide a transcript. Why? They changed computers and lost my records. So, they just refunded everything the tax professional said they owed me.

I asked two senator’s staff if it was this difficult to deal with all agencies or if it was just the IRS. Both staffers told me that the entire government works just like this. The amazing thing is that it works at all.

Illegals had a deadline of April 11, 2025 to register under the Alien Registration Act.

More and more pressure is being placed on the illegals to leave.

Great!!!!!!

Taxpayer Taxes handouts to illegals have got to stop.

Such government expenditures make the case that taxes should never have been collected to begin with.
