For the most part, we are in agreement.

However, I only mentioned one aspect as a sort of joke. The more relevant aspect is this: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. i.e. Now that it’s been done, we are all (Russia and the US) more diligent about what types of attack to consider in our defense plan.

It’s why we were not ready at Pearl Harbor, but we were ready at Midway.

At current rates US/NATO governments will collapse financially due to accumulating debt long before Russia does.

Is it just me, or are the Putin Fanbois expressing their undiminished certainty in the rapid, and absolute, success of Putin's three-day-special-military-operation, now in its fortieth month, in more subdued terms?

Re: "USA-Russia Nuke Treaty - Absolutely false"

Thanks for the correction.

My information came from an essay written by someone with a Department of Defense by-line.

The main point - an attack on Russian strategic bombers could be interpreted as a prelude to nuclear war.

That attack on Russian aircraft will have the same level of impact on warfare that the battle of the Monitor and Merrimack had on naval warfare. Everything is different now.

Indications that around the Persian Gulf and Iraq are going to be hot very soon. Might see latest Iranian drones tested by latest drone defenses. Very soon.

I think part of the reason they want the war, is to use it as a laboratory to learn about how to use and defend against drones.

Kind of like what happened during The Spanish Civil War.

“Who thought it was a good idea to sell US farmland to the Chicoms?”

a) traitors
b) those who worship money above all else

Our Defense budget is massively bloated. We’re preparing for the last war.

Well Biden’s autopen thought it would be a good idea to let in hoards of military aged men from China. So I think I’ve found the answer to your question.

Hoards or hordes? Both make sense if you take it in the proper light.

Forget our military bases. What about the grid? Imagine hundreds of drones simultaneously attacking US Power plants.

How long could you live without electricity?

Okay $1000. Or $10,000. Who cares. We’re spending literally TRILLIONS on the F-35 program.

After this happens we will say...

It was a security failure.
It was an intelligence failure.
It was a failure to spy on our people.
It was a failure of restricting technology.
It was a failure of restricting airspace.
It was a training failure.
It was a funding failure.
It was a political failue.
etc...

The one thing we WON’T say is that it was an immigration failure. But just like 9/11, that is exactly what it will be.

There is no need to restrict my rights to prevent something like this (or 9/11). You simply need to keep out people with no allegiance to our nation.

That’s it.

Yeah - an enemy striking at military assets that aren't active in conflict is rather empty - but exploitable.

If I was a bad guy, I would do a hard head fake towards attacking military, fedgov assets in CONUS. Do a lot of work to sell it as a tangible threat, even going through the motions of attacks, even if they did pinprick damage it should do enough to shift focus onto guarding and defending those assets. There are more than a few REMF desk jockeys who would buy into it. Then slam strategically selected fragile, non-hardened and undefended infrastructure to the ground. But there is a finite window to do it in - from now until truly effective means to countermeasure and defend against drones are out of R&D phases and broadly available to be fielded.

“How long could you live without electricity?”

And that’s my point. They can’t live without us and our resources either. My old man used to say “don’t sh-t where you eat.”

There is no way to stop any of the major countries from attacking each other a number of different ways. So what stops them? Fear of retaliation or cutting off their nose despite their face. If you take one piece out of this jigsaw puzzle, especially from the major countries, and you can line up for the boom or the starvation and sickness, which ever comes first. And everyone knows it and it is not a pretty sight.
