Droit du seigneur is a historical belief that a feudal lord had the right to have sex with a tenant’s bride on any occasion that may come up. It was also believed that the couple had to abstain from sex on their wedding night. This belief was prevalent in medieval Europe. It was a violation of human rights and dignity.

Not that Billy Jeff ever gave much thought to decorum. But he was a bang-up example of a feudal lord who happened to be be born in the wrong century.
