Oswald couldn’t/wasn’t become a member of the CMP. He defected to the Soviet Union, was a communist fag, remember?

Klein’s wanted at least double what the Carcano was for a Garand. He didn’t have a lot of money. He didn’t look too worried about it in any case, about the rifle itself, in that famous pic.

Anyhoo, it is Silly to get wrapped around the axle about the rifle.

It goes bang, hits what you aim at. Any questions? Jeeze Louise

Just posted what I found. You sound like you’re wrapped around an axle.

These are the requirements to buy a gun from CMP today.

Eligibility Requirements

A purchaser must be a U.S. citizen, over 18 years old, and legally eligible to purchase a firearm. They must provide a copy of a U.S. birth certificate, passport, proof of naturalization, or any official government that shows proof of citizenship. A U.S. military ID can be used if E5 or above.

You think the requirements were stricter in 1963? There is no "membership" to "join" CMP.
