Amen! Our Creator desires that our motivation for living in holiness is based on love and not fear. Those who are scared to death of God CAN'T really love Him the way He wants. Of course we should revere Him - the reverent fear of God is the beginning of knowledge/wisdom (Proverbs 1:7; 9:10) - but He is truly honored and glorified when we love and worship Him out of genuine respect and gratitude. Sometimes the thought that the LORD loves and cares for me and every aspect of my life is just too wonderful to believe, but, it IS what He has told us through His Divinely-revealed word and He cannot lie. How much more will we honor and adore Him when we fully realize this is the truth?

[For my hope is] that their hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in [unselfish] love, so that they may have all the riches that come from the full assurance of understanding [the joy of salvation], resulting in a true [and more intimate] knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge [regarding the word and purposes of God]. (Colossians 2:2,3 Amplified Bible)

Our Creator desires that our motivation for living in holiness is based on love and not fear.

And I wanted to add that the genuine child of God/believer in Jesus Christ is indwelt with the Holy Spirit who enables us even to HAVE that inward desire for holiness and to submit to Him. Those who are trusting in their own good works to merit eternal life don't have that so their motive towards holy living comes from the fear of damnation instead of gratitude. I ask...which one really glorifies and pleases God?
