It was an amazing place to experience   I had never seen a cranberry bog until then.   I watched a RCMP Float Plane land on one of the lakes and taxi to the shore to pick up one of the guys who had clobbered his foot with an axe and had to be medevaced to a hospital.   Two guys in our Explorer Scout Post sprinted several miles on the access roads to the ranger station.

I agree that it is a fairly amazing area. I grew up in south-western Oregon, which is a distance second to Maine as a source of cranberries in the U.S., so the bogs are less novel to me than they should be.
