As usual for the rat party.
All I’ve seen so far is that the 5 occupants were taken to a hospital. Possibly hitting the cars gave them some “crumple zone” softening of the impact, and they were able to get out B4 the fire got going?
I guess if my car saved someone’s life, I could “manage” any frustrations with the insurance company...

That’s great news if true.
The pilot's going to have enough stress without the ATC getting panicky. Calm and cool is what the pilot needs to hear.
“The wind speed towards the west in the banning pass typically gets up to 50-60 miles an hour. Piper cub cruises at about 75 mph. So effectively the ground speed would’ve been 15 mph.”
15 mph is all I could do there in my 1967 VW bus when I was a teenager.
Not good. Prayers for all.

“No one on the ground was hurt. None of the buildings were hit, according to fire officials. Route 501 is shut down near the crash.
At a news conference in the wake of the crash, Manheim Township Police Chief Duane Fisher was asked if he thought the result of the crash was a miracle, he said:
‘I don’t know if I consider it a miracle, but the fact that we have a plane crash where everybody survives and nobody on the ground is hurt is a wonderful thing.’”
Just horrible. We had a crash in our neighborhood in 2013.
