Pritztker has governed Illinois while it is losing American population and staying at a break-even reported population only because of the huge number of illegals in the state.

And almost exactly 1/3 (33/102) of the counties in Illinois have voted in favor of leaving Illinois and going to another state. Indiana has already started a commission to facilitate this. Not a heavily populated area, but it will be awkward to have a contiguous state of Illinois if all 33 counties leave.

And then there is Jennifer Pritzker. A first cousin to JB, it lives in Kentucky.

So JB has some issues to deal with. If he runs in 2028 for the Presidential nomination, he will probably be popular with the remaining democrat base. But he will have problems getting votes from normal people.

Hochul is in the middle of a prison guard strike. The National Guard is working the prisons.

The officers say she violated the contract requiring them to work 24 hour shifts. Inmates who assault guards are not disciplined. Solitary confinement issues.

The Governor says they must return to work or she will terminate them all.

She would be wise to stay out of Homan’s way with all she has on her plate.
