My idea of the pilot was that maybe it was a minority planning on going to flight school and had they had just signed up the previous day, and was getting a leg up on the competition.

He the proof is the a sense of the pilots doing interviews immediately after the landing.

The absolute proof is the total silence .

Pilots take turns landing, the FO would land on every other leg.

It was a very well thought out analysis by Mr Millican. No jumping to conclusions, just laying out some factual as well as inside information.

There is much more to the story. Recency of experience could play a part. Why Swanson still had a Restricted ATP rating is curious but explainable.

My first analysis tended toward a failure of the right main gear, but that is just from one angle.

And I cannot say this strongly enough. A 30 degree quartering headwind of 23 gusting to 33 is not a strong wind. For the math wizards, 50% of that is crosswind and 86.6% is headwind.

Give it time.

Yes, many here have stated that the jet landed fast. Maybe it did, maybe it didn’t, we don’t know that as a fact yet. Even if it did land fast, the descent rate at touchdown would matter more than the speed. .

You can clearly hear in the communications between the aircraft and ATC that the captain was making the radio calls unless she has been taking testosterone shots that would cause her voice to deepen.

I bet the female was landing the plane. Just a hunch.
~~~~~
Reportedly the male captain was communicating with the tower, which indicates that the rookie female first officer was landing the plane.
The video shows that she was landing “high and hot” half way down the runway. She had no ability to flare and slow down without overshooting the runway. She should have powered up and gone around for another attempt.
There are certain roles in life I just don’t personally trust a woman as I would a man. Even though men also make mistakes so I don’t know why it is. A dentist and a pilot are two of them.
“How do you know she was a DEI hire?”
You answered your own question.
It’s Canada’s fault.
With all their beady little eyes
And flapping heads so full of lies
A depth perception prob would make sense as not knowing quite where you are, on final with the runway in sight should have your mental alarm bells going off.
