In short, Patel’s confirmation marks the end of 100 years of assault on the rule of law, not its promotion. And, as we have argued in “How To Cut $2 Trillion” ( https://amzn.to/40rgiq40 ), that sordid history is reason enough to abolish the FBI completely.

I heard two of Trump's most controversial cabinet picks - Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr - being forced to deliver clarifications or walk-backs on some of their previously stated positions during their confirmation hearings. Hopefully they stick to their guns and carry through on the reforms they and Trump have said they'll make.

I did not hear Kash Patel walk-back any of his previously stated positions - I expect him to carry out everything he's said he'll do, starting with decentralizing the FBI and getting agents dispersed throughout the country.

Anything Stockman says is ultimately self serving. Stockman secretly fed negative material to the press back when he worked for Reagan. Bob Novak wrote about this in his memoir.

Stockman was as disloyal to Reagan as GOP hacks have been to Trump. He’s not one of the good guys and never has been.
