Where’s the father?
If she knew who he was?
This the face of evil.....
The what?
Seriously, I remember a story in Ms Magazine in its first year or two in which a woman was self-pitying about the drawbacks of motherhood.
(Not the Ms. one where a woman said “I got a degree in college and I’m standing here about to change my baby’s diaper. What have I done wrong in my life to make this day happen?”)
This woman tried to train her tot son to be free of society’s toxic masculine direction. “I gave him dolls and a doll house and kept war toys like soldiers and guns away.
But no matter how many times I put his ball down at the bottom of his toy chest he would find a way to root out everything to get down there to get his favorite ball and play with it again.”
I never forgot it.
