Olympia is officially the first sanctuary city for LGBTQ+ people in Washington state.
The city council voted unanimously at a meeting on Tuesday to declare the state capitol a sanctuary for the queer community, specifically outlining protections for transgender people and gender-affirming care. The resolution, introduced by Assistant City Manager Stacey Ray, mandates equal and dignified treatment under the law regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

They made very good beer but you had to go to the brewery to get some.

Wonderful. They should call it tge FAFO sanctuary. Let’s see what happens. Hopfully for them, Jesus doesn’t return in the meantime.
Not to put too fine a point on this but segregation and Jim Crow was not limited to the South by any means.
The well-known Brown vs Board of Education was about segregation in Topeka, Kansas.
Jack Robinson broke the color line playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers, a team up north.
Olympia, WA is not a large city, but it is the State Capital.
I used to live in Olympia, it was a long time ago but I imagine the queer community does OK there.
