We lived in Marina del Rey years ago in a tall, round building on the ocean front. We could watch fires in Malibu and see smoke from the occasional fire East of LA.
Those were far saner times, with a few fires, usually put out within a day or two.
The magnitude of this year’s fires is mind boggling. Of course they were purposely set. Of course Newsome is complicit. Of course the mayor is a communist who visited Castro several times and somehow managed to be out of town when these fires started. These people are evil incarnate.
And CA voters? We’ll see if they learned anything after the next election.
It’s like throwing hundreds of pounds of burning coals at a neighborhood of houses.
The houses and their landscaping need to be made fire resistant.
There should be no housing subsidies federal or state provided in connection with any structure build on property where there was a burnt structure.
To prevent federally owned air from being polluted, new federal laws are necessary and proper to prevent profiting from criminally burning down a neighborhood.
To deter unhoused arson and pollution of federal air, no federal or state housing subsidies for new housing on burnt land.
To deter developer arson and pollution of federal air, no upzoning, no multi-family replacements for single family houses, or federal or state housing subsidies for burnt land areas.
These preventative measures should be part of any aid bill.
Smart Cities - no one asked you but it’s the psychos control freak future. Your ‘government’ plans to either kill you or render you destitute and then put you in their self-made fenced in cattle pens and you will own nothing and be happy.

Historically that same area burns every 30 years. I was on those fire lines with CDF in the 90s.
The difference now is democrats created the conditions to make it so much worse than it is and tolerate arsonists to wander the streets.
I am not watching in horror. Just curiosity on how the democrats will spin it and how much more support they get from their constituents in LA.
