They purchased the rights to a drug that had failed testing at a major pharm and then created a company around it. They sold stock in their new company, based on this wonder drug that couldn’t pass testing.
Vivek cashed out long before the bag holding retail investors learned that, surprise surprise, the drug didnt work. The company went out of business but the only losers were the investors. Vivek made something like $300 million from this scheme.
