Defunding Israel would be an unmitigated humanitarian disaster - possibly one of the worst we’ve seen - which is mainly why I’m not really for it... now anyway.
And yes, it’s really not astronomical figure, compared to what we piss away. It could be much better spent, but cutting them off would do almost nothing for us financially.
That said, we’re funding a total clusterfk. Not sure who thought it was a good idea to just plop a bunch of Jews from the world over (Brooklyn, Ukraine etc.) into a place where they’ll always be surrounded by their eternal enemies... and be completely dependent on us to sponsor them and all their wars. All their enemies become my daughter’s enemies. For what? Sooner or later the Muzloids will do what the Romans did. In 10 years, 150 years... whenever.
The Zionoid dream is just not sustainable... despite loving all the Juze in my life. Almost all of them anyway.
The ONLY problem that Israel has where it is located are the Arabs that want to take the place of Hitler. Perhaps Israel could have been located elsewhere, but they’d be in the same situation just about anywhere in the world (read about what happened to Jews who tried to return to Poland in the years immediately AFTER World War 2 - mass killings didn’t end in 1945).
So, as it is, Israel has EVERY REASON not to trust a host nation (remember, Germany was the most civilized and cultured country in the world, prior to WW2) as even the US is now looking pretty bad, and even 35 years ago, look at what happened in Crown Heights.
Bottom line is that Israel is not disbanding on their own, and it is up to Americans to decide if we want an ally in that nasty part of the world.
