Holding them accountable is not the same as controlling them. Regular people don't just go and accuse others of doing something that is damaging to then, such as accusing of rape, and neither should a media organization.. People don't just go and accuse someone of conspiring with a foreign government and neither should the media.

There's already plenty of competition in media, and holding them accountable should not prevent anybody or any organization from reporting truthfully.
