Most Americans are a practical people who believed electing a “black” president would forever end poor race relations in the country.
They did it twice.
That plan failed big time.
The Democrats stuck with it anyway.
Now the Democrats get to die on that hill.
Not only did The whole “ Elect a black guy” schtick Not correct or repair sins of the past, but it made things exponentially worse by Obama’s own hand. At every point , he was pushing racial animosity and distrust and using it to his advantage.
I saw an interesting graph that was tracking the use of words in newspaper articles from 1980 through 2016. And it was very telling.
From 1980 to 2007, words like racism, diversity, slavery, equity, and basically all the buzzwords left loves to use, were only a very small portion of the lexicon used by the press.
Then starting in 2007 going forward, those words shot up, no joke, at a rate of about 10 times the frequency that they were used prior to Obama taking the main stage. And it’s I think just an interesting example of the tone and direction that the national conversation took, in a bad way, when Obama became president.
…and Rush predicted it at the time of Obama’s inauguration.
