The problem is that the ABA is a Lefist front that is relied upon for ALL Candidates for Judicial appointments, and Ratings are used to push for even MORE Activist Judges. Elimination of the ABA, and the ACLU (it's taxpayer-funded counterpart), would remove their stranglehold on the Judiciary Appointments.

The additional problems of the "Roberts" court, where there are only two solidly Constitutional-inspired Justices (Thomas and Alito), is the result of such Lawfare.

I wish I had a dollar for everytime I heard a new college graduate answer the question - What are you going to do now Tracy (Note usually I hear this from coeds!) Answer: Dunno guess I’ll go to law school.
