Upon his conviction, Merchan said he would sentence Trump on July 11th. The plan was to send Trump to prison four days before the Republican convention. What happened?

My guess is that DOJ told Merchan to back off. The Democrats realized they were actually risking a real civil war in the country. This is another thing the Trump administration, which wasn't supposed to happen, should look into.

Merchan is/was engaged in a conspiracy to interfere with a national election. That’s a felony with a 5-year sentence.

“That’s a felony with a 5-year sentence.”

Which needs to be revisited.

Merchan is looking to hold off sentencing till after President Trump's 4 year term, in order for Democrats to hold it as a blackmailing tool over President Trump in the next 4 years.
Merchan will not be allowed to get away with it.

I have talked to some folks who complain about possible retribution against people who have illegally tried to stop Trump (by lawfare or otherwise). But they all agree when I say this, “Those people don’t have to worry about retribution. What they have to worry about is justice. And justice will be done.”

Lots of judges are beyond suspect. Starting with the FISA judges.

Merchan has held off sentencing because at sentencing is when the judgment of conviction is entered. And that’s when the appeal can start. The court of appeals is the last place Merchan wants to see this case.

It is also possible that Merchan was told to hold off sentencing Trump because the ex-President would be dealt with by assassination. There were two attempts we know of and possibly others. The would be assassin at the Florida golf course was possibly a Pentagon or CIA asset via the Ukrainian military.

In 2023, the Deep State and the billionaire class that have run both parties were counting on Federal and state criminal prosecutions and civil lawsuits to take Trump down. They also financially supported candidates like DeSantis and Haley in the GOP primaries. Their efforts were failures. The lawfare only added to Trump's base of support. Despite speculation that the Democrats would dump Biden before the NH and SC primaries, replacing him with Gavin Newsom or Michelle Obama, it is possible that Joe (or Jill) would not cooperate. It is also possible that they hoped that Republicans would be repulsed at the "felon" and that DeSantis would take him down. With that failing and Biden's unpopularity reaching untenable levels, a bloodless coup was staged, where Biden took very ill in California and was flown to Delaware, where he was incommunicado for six days. Then we got the resignation letter, which had a signature not his.

I don’t see blackmail. Look at how President Trumps popularity improved after the mug shot and he went up points. Merchandisers have tee shirts stating I voted for the convicted felon. Pundits have stated over and over that the felony conviction immediately gave Trump credibility with minorities who have been victims of the system, and voting percentages verify this.

I think there is a lot behind the scenes we arent privy to.

Yes. When Plan E wasn't working, they moved on to Plan F.

My guess is that the judge sees his chances for a $10 million book deal fade away with DJT’s 50.5% of the popular vote.

We’ve gotta let Rand Paul go head to head with Fauxi for hours and hours starting in late January.
