According to a news release on Wednesday, however, the Arizona Supreme Court denied their “last-minute” appeal:

Via Arizona Supreme Court:

The Arizona Supreme Court today denied a last-minute motion from Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego to prevent disclosure of redacted records from their divorce proceedings.

The records were initially sealed by the Yavapai County Superior Court, where the divorce was granted. A newspaper, the Washington Free Beacon, filed a lawsuit in Yavapai County Superior Court asking it to unseal the records. Holding that such records should be a matter of public record, the court unsealed them while redacting certain private matters.

One would argue America would have been saved. Getting beat by MD would have at least severely derailed Barry’s career. But it would also have guaranteed a Hillary presidency in 08. so it’s actually lose lose.

i hated hillary but as i told my friend at the time, a Conservative who hated hillary so much he wanted obama to be the rat candidate- hillary is bad but obama would be a danger to America- and i was right.

Well...in this case it will be reported quite differently. As “dirty” tactics by Republicans. Whereas it is the “public’s right to know” when Democrats do it to Republicans.

He also had gotten his opponent in the state Senate race thrown off the ballot in his prior election, didn’t he?

I may be misreading your meaning of the second paragraph, but Ryan was the Republican candidate, not a Dem primary opponent to Obama.

Of course the irony of your comment is unsealed divorce records is the exact reason why we got obama- if you remember.

And saved us from Ryan.....finally relegating him to the Bob Eucker seats

Yes, I believe you are correct.

His “move to the center” during the 2008 election was of course a fake. He was and is close Ayers and Dohrn, founders of the Weather Underground.

As a former resident of Illinois, the divorce records were big sauce for 0bama. How, exactly, did McCain and Bush give us 0bama?

Obama knocked out his democrat primary opponent with the unsealed divorce records. He knocked out Ryan in the general with the unsealed custody dispute records. According to the polling, Obama was not on track to win either race until the courts did the dirty work on his opponents.

“As a former resident of Illinois, the divorce records were big sauce for 0bama. How, exactly, did McCain and Bush give us 0bama?”

I know what Obama did to win his Senate seat, but McCain was ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC in 2008, attacking people at his rallies (by admonishing a speaker, who was introducing him, for mentioning Obama’s middle name) and by saying that Obama would make a fine president. McCain was FAR MORE INTERESTED in losing with ‘class’, than ever winning.

Bush was an ABSOLUTE IDIOT for standing around and doing NOTHING for the first 92 months of his presidency when mortgages were being written to people who literally had NO MEANS to pay back the money. Instead of calling for a stop to that, he tried to take credit - calling it “The Ownership Society”. (the last 4 months of his presidency was the fallout of his stupidity, which is why the country now has such a huge debt) Also, he should have known VERY QUICKLY that there was no way to ever make Iraq or Afghanistan into Jeffersonian Democracies - just doesn’t happen in those cultures.

So, without Bush and McCain, Obama would likely still be a useless Democrat Senator from a useless Blue State.

it was a LOT more than that- there were all kinds of accusations he wanted to go to sex clubs with his wife and swing with other people. I also remember there were accusations he wanted to watch his wife have sex with other men.

A LOT more than a child custody case.

No argument on McCain.

The CRA, which led to these oversold mortgages, was around long before Bush became president. While he shares some responsibility for the fallout, no less than Congress for sitting on their hands and letting the chaos and debt take reign.

Bush warrants criticism for a number of reasons (e.g., religion of peace) but the mortgage crisis has many fathers, including Bill Clinton.

The difference was Sub-Prime Mortgages (i.e., Option ARMs). Underwriting standards went from sub-optimal (and stupid) to criminal under Bush, and it was all there for all to see. Lee County in Florida, at that time, posted mortgages on the web, and it was OBVIOUS that they’d never be paid back, given the terms. I shorted Financials in 2006 and bought a nice car with the money in 2008. If I knew, THEY ALL KNEW, and Bush was President then.

While the Democrat crap like CRA is stupid and hurts the country, we elect Republicans to minimize the damage, not to double-down on their stupidity.

The messy personal details were all part of the child custody case. They were arguing about fitness to be a parent.

That’s neither here nor there for the current discussion. The issue is whether and when sealed family court records can be unsealed. Neither Ryan nor his ex wife wanted the messy stuff made public and they fought it in court, but the court opened the records to give the Obama campaign a hit piece.

In all such cases, the key thing to me is consistency. When are family court records sealed? There can’t be one rule for Republicans and another for Democrats, and it shouldn’t be up to the whim of the judge.

In the current case, as long as Arizona is treating everyone the same, I’m ok with either answer.

It wasn't just Ryan, it was EVERY candidate that Obama ever faced. They cleared the decks for Obama in Chicago.

Obama's rise in politics is a result of the following:

  1. Obama challenged qualifying signatures on all his Illinois State Senate Democrat primary opponents' applications (see Alice Palmer), running unopposed.

  2. Obama had sealed divorce records of his Democrat primary opponent Blair Hull exposed, revealing accusations of wife-beating and forcing Hull out of the primary.

  3. Obama had sealed divorce records of his Republican opponent Jack Ryan exposed, revealing accusations of wanting to perform public sex acts and forcing Ryan out of the general election.

  4. Obama claims his legislative records in Illinois were not archived, and presumably destroyed, leaving no paper trail of his past government experience. (See last paragraph of article).

It seems that Obama couldn't win without legal technicalities or by destroying his opponent by exposing sealed private records. This was a technique that wasn't supposed to be applied TO Democrats.

That is where we differ- everyone is not being treated the same- there are one set of rules and laws for Conservatives and another for liberals. That’s why i am more than happy that these records are released- legally or otherwise- especially if it helps Kari Lake.

Its only when more and more of this happens to liberals, either legally or illegally, and they feel the sting first hand, will instances such as DJT’s tax returns being illegally leaked stop.

Uh huh....Below is an audio speech of Bush, just a couple years prior to the epic housing collapse, where Bush is demanding home loans for totally unqualified minorities.

Thank you for your comments. I was not aware of what happened to Blair Hull.

Clinton is no less to blame for the mortgage crisis than Bush (many fathers). For some reason you have a serious axe to grind for Bush. Best of luck to you.
