The problem is with older voters who may not have their original documents after 7 decades, and moves across the country. They signed a document that testified they were citizens, and voted happily everafter, based on their testimony.

Not.

The surge of illegal aliens in the US has become a problem among the aged if they don’t know where their original birth certificate is stashed. The BC requirement today is a document issued and certified by the county you were born in. but how does that state verify you are who you are asking for?

In almost all cases, the State where a person was born would have that person’s birth certificate on file.

But that is not the issue I am talking about.

REAL ID was enacted into law in 2005 and has been implemented to varying degrees among the 50 states.

So why aren’t the States comparing the names and addresses of the people they have in their REAL ID lists to see if the Voter Registration Rolls are the same?

When a person obtains a REAL ID they have to present documents, usually a passport, birth certificate, or naturalization certificate, and they get a REAL ID that shows they are a US CITIZEN.

If a person does not present documents, usually a passport, birth certificate, or naturalization certificate, they still get a REAL ID, but is shows they are NOT A US CITIZEN.

So the question remains: Why aren’t the States comparing the REAL ID lists with the Voter Registration lists?
