Both. Jail is less than 12 months most places. Prison is over 12. So by saying jail means he wasn’t sentenced to anytime anywhere.

Arrested doesn’t really count as “jail time” as it wasn’t ordered by a judge. He was just being held.

The time you spend in jail counts toward time served.

The question I have is how many times and how much time did he spend in jails.
