No tax on tips? Then I start leaving no tips. Especially when the state legislatures are eliminating tip base wages and replacing it with higher minimum wages.

Besides, the government should not be in the business of picking winners and losers. The purpose of taxing income is supposed to be to fund government spending, not pander to various special interest groups.

Don’t leave NO tip. That can be written off as negligence on your part. Leave a penny. That’s a message.

Good points.

Now, don't get me wrong: I think it's a good thing when people find ways to avoid sending their hard-earned pay to what has become a corrupt and irresponsible government ... but ...
Everyone else is forced at the point of a gun to pay taxes on everything they earn, including money received for a job well-done. So why the special break on "tips"? (except to score political points, of course!)
