The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. I wonder if President Trump playing that course is his usual or if there are many potential courses he plays? If many, it becomes more curious as to the shooter being there at that time unless the shooter staked out that course for an extended period, somehow not being noticed until the Secret Service noticed him.

Just a note: There is no evidence that Routh voted for Trump except for a social media post he made and a reference he made in his book. There is no record of him voting for Trump in 2016 in either NC or HI. He voted Democrat in the 2024 NC primary.

No you can purchase a gun in any state and they will ship it home to an FFL dealer in your town. So this guy Routh could not have legally purchased that AK in Florida and with his criminal record anywhere else.
He was provided a weapon by someone. Somebody just posted that the serial number had been removed from the AK they found. Not surprising.
