Some have suggested it’s a calculated decision on Garvey’s part to not be too closely associated with Trump in blue California. I’m not saying whether that’s smart or not, but it’s likely what’s motivated his failure to reach out to Trump.
Youngkin tried to keep Trump at arm’s length in Virginia and eventually won the governorship, although he did appear with Trump a few times and received Trump’s endorsement. If Garvey’s looking for a blueprint on how to succeed in his race, he may want to look at what Youngkin did. It’s a fine line he needs to walk, but totally ignoring Trump is probably not smart.
Sounds like good advice to me.
Same for Larry Hogan in Maryland…. Hogan has a shot at winning
Same thing here in liberal Washington state. Anti-Trump Dave Reichart (R) running for governor trying to not get tied to Trump.
As big of a RINO as he is, he should be tougher on crime than Bob Ferguson who is now the attorney general of the state and allows 9-time felons out so they can kill 80-year old dog walkers.
Is he losing in the polls?
If so, then he needs to request the endorsement. Trump might even come out and campaign for him
