"Settle's things"? The guy got arrested. He should have ended up in the hospital with broken bones.
I believe the great LS has pointed out many times that the function of police was as much to protect the accused from vigilante justice as it was to protect the public.
At some point, the public takes matters into their own hands if the current incarnation of policing doesn’t do their job.
No one said do nothing but you. You and you alone. We fathers do things that we know in today’s world could mean jail all the time. Acknowledging the reality hardly means accepting it or looking the other way. Seriously.
I lived worked, went to school and voted in King county for almost 21 years.
You’d have to go to New York city to find a more wretched set of liberals.
That guy is most likely back out on the street within 2 hours of arrest.
Bad mouthing all done.
WA state has some of America’s best self protection laws.
Her dad could give her a gun and if the guy attacks her again cops will show up and haul his body off.
She will get arrested but be out within the day.
King county arrests everyone involved with guns and violence. King county Cops don’t care who is right.
SOP.
"But that distance was no barrier for Dad."
Different states, of course, have different rules.
Sadly, I doubt anything will happen to the pervert. There will no legal repercussions for him.
Honestly, her father showed great restraint since I expect he was aware the legal system is worthless. He should have, and probably would have, rearranged the perv’s face but for the prosecution and imprisonment that would have been levied on him.
The scumbag is probably already on the street, no bail.
There would be far fewer security jobs without the insurance discounts.
Cops are next to useless.
FTA: “And I looked at him, and I said, ‘Hey!’” Steinkirchner recounted to KIRO, adding that he yelled a few expletives at the male, who immediately ran away.

Note to all of you men here who find yourselves in a similar situation:
Don’t yell “Hey!” at the perp. That tips him off that you are after him. Quietly approach him and grab ahold of him before you give him the business.
I am disappointed that Dad didn’t beat the Clinton out of this jerk.
My Grandad was the same type of guy, which is why my Mum never told him about some of the incidents she had with d-bags because she didn’t want to see him jailed or murdered.
I loved my Geo Metro. It was a manual, aerodynamic actually, and yes, would probably do 90. I had upgraded the wheels / tires to 13” from the standard 12 and it would approach 50 MPG at moderate speeds on the highway.
That’s a fact. The downside to that conceptual downside is the jobs created by an insurance requirement are usually/eventually filled by those thankful they don’t really have to be on the look out for anything unrelated to the cya category.
About 30 years ago, when my oldest daughter was a student at Boston College, we got a call from her on Sunday afternoon in the winter. She was in tears. A Boston police cadet guy she was briefly dating pulled a prank on her, faking his death as a police cadet. My daughter was very shook up. She had already discussed this with the Boston College Police Department, thinking he was dead.
I lived 4 hours drive time away from Boston. Grabbed my .357 service revolver, gassed up my old pick up truck, and four hours later was talking with the BCPD desk sergeant. Told him who I was, that I am a former Immigration Officer, who my daughter was and what happened. The desk sergeant smiled and said he took care of it, and the nondeceased idiot was no longer a Boston Police Cadet. I thanked him, left to comfort my daughter, and made a slower drive home to Maine. A Dad has to be prepared to do what must be done.
“the woke cops in Seattle don’t do the job they were hired for.”
I don’t see anything in the story suggesting the cops are woke and nothing indicating they didn’t do the job they were hired for.
When police ignored my daughter’s 911 call over her abusive ex-boyfriend and the police did nothing. I threatened the town board that I would own the whole town if anything happens to my daughter.
I think you sent your response to the wrong guy.
Hallelujah, Dad Bill!
He’s wearing a pink shirt - but he’s wearing black athletic shorts, not a skirt.
