It appears that CHOP was about 8 city blocks, PLUS a large park that is about 3 city blocks large.
But of course this was just their safe zone. Their anarchist activities extended throughout the city during the day and night with their protests and vandalism and attacks.
And by their violent activities they “took over” a huge part of Seattle.
Some guy killed a “protester” on I-5 by skirting their on ramp blockades, by going up the off ramp and travelling the freeway. He hit one of them as they attempted to stop him... In WA, and America post O’commie era, he was convicted.
I never would have imagined allowing protesters to shut down an Interstate Hwy, like they do now. When I was a kid, I watched as “students” at the UW turned over cars of people. TV played live news coverage back then. My Mom and Dad, as Democrat as could be, were scowling and saying RUN EM OVER.... Things are REALLY changed.
Of course men wore work boots, and Flannel shirts were what men wore every day. You worked in Lumber, or at Boeing. Portland was the same, only more into logging.
They tried their nonsense in my neck of the woods in Texas by showing up at a local Walmart to start trouble and came face to face with (besides the cops) very angry locals, bikers, and veterans, all heavily armed. They took one look at that and went right back the way they came.
They tried to start their nonsense in another town and got chased off.
