It sounds like it isn’t different from the sports book.
Way back when, I recall college players prosecuted for point shaving. This was different from today — no court believed they were employees.
Maybe the scholarship required them to try their best at all times — I don’t know.
I would think a professional player’s contract would require the player to do his best.
I assume money was not refunded.
The horse race protest of a few years ago comes to mind also —I think the only thing it would have changed would be the stud fees. The bets were paid off.
