I lived for years out in the New Mexico desert...
I learned to exist with the tarantulas and scorpions but never came close to considering one as a pet, egads!
I will have to cut the spider drowning gal some slack here....
Never visit Australia if you really hate spiders, they have some LARGE ones....
And deadly!
I actually have a tarantula. The lazy person’s pet, really - feed it once every few months at minimum and just make sure there’s water.
She’s almost 20 years old and started off as my husband’s. She’s incredibly docile, and just wants to find the warmest apot on you and hunker down.
But the fact that this was someone’s pet makes this rather egregious. If this was a bird or even a snake drowned in ginger ale, you would probably feel differently.
