In a way, it is confirmation that the Secret Service people who were order to do nothing followed orders, even though any rational Secret Service agent would realize that they were doing the wrong thing.

Not a good way, but a way. I thought the Secret Service has a job to do, and that job is not to be an expert witness. Every one of those agents who stood by should be fired, and not be living the high life on taxpayer salaries and pensions.

Many/most/perhaps all of the Secret Service agents on stage had absolutely no idea what was going on—and they did not stand down. Their competency levels varied—but that is a separate issue.

They were caught in the crossfire and could have been wounded or killed taking that fire.

It is their bosses that are culpable—and apparently the bosses could not care less if the worker bees get shot or killed.
